We are a British Horse Society (BHS)-affiliated bridleways group based in the Otmoor area, near Oxford, and aim to work in co-operation with the British Horse Society, Oxfordshire County Council, local landowners and other relevant parties to bring about improvements in local paths.
We try to help maintain and improve our local off-road riding network in a variety of ways, including by carrying out bridleway clearances and fundraising for access improvement projects.
In addition, we hold a number of horse-centred and social activities, such as riding clinics, guest speakers, BBQs and demonstrations by equestrian experts. All our events are brought about due to individual members generously volunteering their time and ideas in arranging them.
The riders in our group come from many of the villages local to Otmoor, including Murcott, Fencott, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Oddington and Horton-cum-Studley, and beyond. Group meetings take place approximately once every three months, where we share ideas, plan future activities and often enjoy a pizza or two! Membership currently costs £10 per year (£15 for family membership), which is to cover our BHS-affiliation costs and to help fund improvements to local bridleways.
